#386-You know what they say about the one bad apple?

Well I finished another class. I am beat and I am glad it is over! There is just this one thing.... Every class you get student reviews and most of the time there are no comments and all the instructor related stuff is rated as great or 'really' great (I like those ones). Well this time there was one comment and it's really sticking to my ribs. It's silly as there really wasn't anything bad said about my teaching or what I do but this one really got to me? I am paraphrasing here... "Instructor shares too much personal information I don't want to know her personal business".

So now I am racking my brain to figure out what the heck that person was talking about? Why? Because A) I don't really have time to 'share' B) I pretty much keep my mouth shut about personal stuff. I may try to interject the odd time with a little humor (cause it's got to get boring some times listening to me! :) ). But my personal life it pretty much off limits. I was entering some data in a table with Movie and TV characters and I made a snide remark that Tree House is on so much I think I am starting to get a crush on the Wiggles. A bunch of people laughed so apparently someone thought it was funny! :) I don't talk about my kids, unless someone comes up to me at a break and asks about them. (My old infertility days kind of keeps that one off limits for me. I know if I was still suffering I wouldn't want to go to a class and listen to someone talk about their twins!).

Originally I thought it may be about the fact that sometimes I will mention that I don't use some of the features I am reviewing and give them reasons why not and why. I also talk about places where I may use some of the features in the real world but I don't share any details it's all very high level.

I just thought it was very strange about my personal business... I do talk about my love of technology (but it is a technology related class?) I suppose this one will bug me for a while as I don't really get what I did to set this person off? I suppose that it's not a big deal since it was one comment and this person didn't dislike the class and marked off the Agree to the Treated the student with respect box.

I am so careful what I say because everything has to be so politically correct these days... sheesh at Christmas time I am even careful to NOT wish the class a Merry Christmas. (I do tend to stick my foot in my mouth from time to time but I don't think I did today?)

Aren't you supposed to tell a little about yourself anyway so that the students get to know you a bit and feel comfortable?

Now why am I letting this one little teeny weeny comment bother me... time to move on... there will be more comments! Why can't everyone just play nice. Really how is that constructive if you really don't get what the issue was?

It's funny a few years ago it became my personal mission to pass on positive feedback... now I see why I am doing a good thing! I have written letters to companies to say nice things about people. I have passed glowing comments on a job well done to folks bosses and I am really so glad I do that. It seems that the nit picky people will complain just because and the happy people just go on their merry way!

So go out and say GOOD JOB to someone's boss next time you are thrilled with the service you receive! It will make someones day a little brighter! :) (I also believe that constructive feedback can be very helpful. If it is relevant and not presented in a hurtful manner!

KIDDO NOTES
What the heck has happened to my hubby? I got home from work and he was letting the kids play in my car? Personally I am thinking that is not a great idea. Door Open/Close can lead to fingers getting squished (I know that hurts, my Mother slammed the door on my Finger once. Of course she didn't believe me so a) she wouldn't open the door and b) she made me go to school anyway. I had to mange to get the door open myself and I got in trouble for that too...) Not to mention I wouldn't want them getting a hold of keys and 'playing' in the vehicle. Mr. Strict and Anal about the Cars has lost his mind I think.

The kids have been so grumpy in the evenings lately all that fresh air is making them nice and tired! I think the little one still needs a nap... but good luck with that one!

#380 - Never a dull moment

Last evening at work was very interesting. We had a shoplifter in the store. The worst part was my co-worker saw her put something in her bag just after she arrived and she stayed for over an hour after that. I didn't think she was ever going to leave and we just wanted to get it over with!

Given that I haven't worked in retail most of my life the thought of confronting her scared the crap out of me. (That and you never know with people these days). Anyway my coworker was totally cool with confronting her. I said I have your back, since the thief was twice her size.

The lady even bought stuff before she left the store. She was trying to confuse us by changing stuff in and out of her order, but both of us were there so I worked on getting it rung in and my coworker dealt with her. I was freaked about how she was going to pay I was so glad it wasn't a credit card! I am surprised everyone didn't hear my sigh of relief after! :) (One of my other co-workers laughed when I asked her if that was everything... then after she said no... I said Are you sure?)

If you don't know already you have to wait to confront a shoplifter until after they leave the store. So we waited and waited and waited.... you get the picture! Minutes seem like hours in that situation, never mind HOURS!!! Well my coworker dragged her back in after she confronted her out of the store and hollered at me to call the police.

We have decided that I am not doing that again. I didn't have the correct street name and they kept saying Ma'am what street are you on... I wanted to tell the operator to freaking google it. It's hard to concentrate on a phone call when you are trying to make sure your co-worker is OK. Not to mention that the lady was getting agitated and I was starting to worry. I finally handed the phone off to another co-worker and said can you tell them where the heck we are. I needed to go help my friend anyway as the lady wanted to leave the store.

We had the door locked and my teeny tiny friend was standing in front of the door in kind of the corner. So I stood in front of her. The lady tried to push behind me to unlock the door. I gently pushed her arm down beside her side and told her that she had to wait for the Police. She said she was going to charge me with assault. I said go ahead! She really wanted out of there (hmmm I wonder why... she had dumped one bag and said 'ooo I forgot about it, here is all your stuff back' then it was 'I'll pay for it'. We won't mention that she still had another larger bag full of stuff in her other hand.)

Her next project was to try to intimidate me! I was just standing staring at her with a nasty look. I wasn't going to engage her in any conversation as it was pointless anyway so I just stared... She decided that she was going to try to stare me down. HA HA HA HA... I have twins and 2 year old I have PRACTICE lady! LOL

Needless to say I think it ended up freaking her out that I was coming off as being so confident (if she only knew... I had spent the last hour determining that I outweighed her and I should be able to tackle her if I had too! LOL Oh ya and that I am SO non-confrontational and a wimp to boot!) It's amazing what a good nasty stare can do? Anyway I think she realized that she wasn't getting by me and she started to calm down and go on with the pleading... I told her to save it for the Police I wasn't interested. She then started to pick up the stuff she dumped on the floor. I told her not to touch it, she said I need to clean it up. I said step away from the merchandise NOW... in a nasty form of my Mommy stern voice!

Well I was very happy to see the police and they took her off to the car so we didn't have to listen to her any more. They eventually came in with the other bag of stuff... she nabbed close to $500 in product. She was even taking rolls of ribbon from beside the front counter where at least one of us was standing the entire time.

I did feel bad for her as she obviously has a big issue. I am sure hoping that she gets the help she desperately needs. It truly is amazing what people will say/do to get out of trouble when they are caught red handed.

I really hope I don't ever have to go through that again.... but ya never know I suppose, at least I know what to do the next time if I ever have to confront someone.

I was so ill after that I was up most of the night last night feeling kind of sick.

So here is my funny thing I realized today. I have always been a fan on Angelina Jolie movies. You know the ones where the HOT chick kicks some a**! I thought it would be so cool to be tough and hot at the same time! It was my Angie moment last night (no physical violence, but whatever). I got to scare someone into realizing that they shouldn't cross me and I was really HOT (It was HOT in the store the temp was set to high! LOL). Oh yes and I was fighting crime too! :) So I can cross something of my bucket list now!!! LOL (Oh ya I have a new nickname at the store "the muscle", I wonder if I get paid more for that?)

Today was kind of boring in comparison... working on my taxes... YUCK!

KIDDO NOTES

I got to spend the afternoon making lego houses for the kids! They all complain I am too slow. Baby was right in there trying to 'help'. I couldn't see what I was doing as she was between my legs right in front of me. It was a good day! :)

#359 - Seriously?

Well I found out the 'rest' of the story this evening. I went to a scrapbooking retreat a few weekends ago and the HAG from the store was bad mouthing me to the owner. I think she was pissed off because I wasn't doing her job for her. Talk to the hand chicky poo! (oh ya and don't eff with me I am smarter than you and you won't win! Oh and did I mention I will eff with your mind if you keep the bs up! <- evil me speaking! :) )

I was thinking of confronting her but why bother. She is going to blame me for whatever she wants anyway. Oh well I might as well has some fun and mess with her head for a while! :) LOL I am sooo glad this is just a part time job.

#344 - Making Progress

Well I am making some progress on my latest en-devour. (I am also keeping out of trouble and not sleeping much too! Ugg) On the bright side some of my energy has come back and I am feeling much better. I knew I felt crappy but until I started to feel better I didn't realize how crappy I was actually feeling... H1N1 possibly or a weird cold?

Well I am glad I have energy to clear the dishes after supper now... it was that bad! I though I was just getting really lazy! :)

I have been busy trying to plan the cards I want to make for Christmas. I will be going over to a friends place on Sunday (after a day of scrapbooking here on Saturday). Hubby will be impressed I am sure! Especially since I go on a retreat the following weekend! I am sooo bad!

THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY
- Figuring out a new software package and the language that goes with it! :) Yey my brain still works!
- Having a lot more energy!

KIDDO NOTES
Well so far so good the kids have not caught whatever I had! Thank Goodness. They are pretty healthy eaters (most of the time) so I am sure that helps a bit? (That and my tub of hand sanitizer that I was literally bathing in every day! :) )

With my extra work the last two days the kids have been a bit out of control. Boy1 knows when to act up, when Mom is on the Phone or when Mom is busy. Little monster is his nickname these days. I am sure it's just another phase that we have to make it through! :) Tomorrow I will taking the day off the computer stuff so I can spend extra time with them. Hopefully the extra attention will help. That and I have been cutting them off Treehouse (the kids station). It has been bliss almost two days with out the freaking shows on my television. Bliss I tell you!

If my computer ever finishes what it's doing I will be off to bed!

#337 - What another Public Service Announcement?

So I have another public service announcement.

If you decided to nurse, when you are done PLEASE get rid of your nursing bra (here we go boobies again).

So today I was teaching... just after lunch I heard a 'click', then one of the 'ladies' was Loose! Thank goodness I didn't have a light blouse on or I would have had to leave! I had a heavier jacket on so there was no nipple showing.. thank goodness! I am sure if anyone looked they would have noticed my lopsided-ness! Needless to say she was on the loose until afternoon break. 2hours of freedom.

I will have to chalk this one up to an almost embarrassing moment... thank god I wasn't wearing the shirt I was wearing yesterday or it would have been one - sided nipple city! :)

*I really do need to go shopping I have not nursed for over a year and 1/2, I think is time for a new over the shoulder boulder holder! :)

KIDDO NOTES
What is is with early mornings and children. If I am A) sick or B) needing to get up early it always seems that all three kids decide it's a good night to wake up. So last night Boy1 was up from 10:30-11pm, then Boy2 11pm-11:30pm... well we couldn't leave out baby now could we? 1:45am.... someone wanted to be rocked in her chair after a screaming fit. Then hubby got home at 2:30 am and I was still awake! So I did go to bed at 10pm to get some extra sleep... by 4am I was still awake... alarm rang at 5:30am. Well at least I was asleep when it rang??? :)

Aaaa my sweet kiddos! I guess they just wanted to make sure they saw me before I went to work! :)

Hoping to get an early night tonight!

#332 - Rest

Well I get to 'rest' for a couple of days. Well at least rest from teaching. One more course next week. Then I am done for this term. I wasn't scheduled any classes in December so I get that month 'off' so far.

We managed to survive once again without our sh*tty babysitter. Grandma would not come over because I had a cold. She figured that she would catch H1N1 from me. Did I mention I had a COLD not H1N1. That woman has more excuses than a child who doesn't want to go to school!

I managed to make it through my two days of teaching even though I wasn't feeling very well. I am blessed with a naturally loud voice (normally a curse but in this job it works out well!) so I didn't have to put any extra effort into projecting my voice. I don't think I would have survived if I needed to use any more effort. It is hard work for me to talk all day, so anything extra would have put me over the 'edge'. It wasn't one of my stellar classes and I need to do some work with my content however I had a lot of good comments. I am happy with that given that I really want to change a few things around.

So I am going to rest a little now before my next class!

THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY
- 2 day courses, get to meet new people, get to 'pass on some information', instant feedback so you can improve for the next one
- hubby is back to working Fridays for at least a couple of weeks (unfortunately we aren't quite up to 40 hours yet due to him working a very short day to make up for our 'babysitter')

KIDDO NOTES
Kids were happy to stay with Dad the last couple of days... I will have to work extra hard for them to like me tomorrow! :)

Have I mentioned how much I like life with toddlers now that 2 of 3 are potty trained. I complained so much about potty training I figured I should share my post training life! It's good to have less diapers around here! Better for the environment to I suppose!

#311- Oy!

Well it's been a while. I have been keeping out of trouble. I managed to make it through a painful course last week. Painful in that it was difficult to get through all the material. The funny thing was all the good comments that I received. I was really rushing to get through the last bit of the class. Sometimes I don't know where the time goes? It was also a small class so I am not really sure what happened. Oh well I managed to get through everything and no one seemed to irked by the speed at which we went through stuff at the end of day 2 (I think everyone is pretty much ready to leave by then anyway!)

I slept in on Friday - lucky me as the hubby was off. Well not so lucky me as hubby was in a 'mood' because he hasn't been getting any time to work on his shed. I have been so busy working that I haven't had a lot of time to take the kids off his hands when he is home. What's a part time working mom with way to many jobs to do? Put up with a miserable hubby I suppose! I get yelled at about an hour before work, then get yelled at because I was crying. What good is crying going to do he says... talk about support there. NO sorry, nothing, then I get home from work and he won't talk to me. Sheesh and I didn't even do anything except be so totally exhausted that I had to sleep in. Oh well he is back to work tomorrow and I am almost ready for my next course so maybe he can have his ME time and shut the frig up!

Oh yes and I just sent my handouts for my last course that I have to develop for this semester. Phew... Now I just have some final preparations and I can go teach on Thursday/Friday! Then work Friday night and Sunday at my other job... then pass out for a while! :)

KIDDO NOTES
Well the boys have really been a treat for quite a while now. They are getting along so well and playing so well it's a amazing. I didn't expect this kind of peace in the house until they moved out. They are kids after all! :) Oh yes and we are officially pull-up free (well except bed time but that's a just in case deal) with the boys! They both are Potty Trained! (My sweet Boy1 gets my Iphone every evening then he proceeds to the bathroom to do his business... sometimes he sits there for 20 mins playing on the phone! I am thinking he will be the magazine reader in the Potty room as he gets older! :))

Ah yes and Baby... she is growing up way to fast for my liking. She still loves the word NO. We also like to ask her if she is Mom's girl... she will say NO, then we ask if she is Dad's girl... NO again. So then what does she say... baby's girl! Oh yes she is her own person that's for sure!

I am looking forward to getting through my four week course marathon (at least that's what it feels like) so that I can just spend time with the kiddos... no work involved! (At least until they go to bed that is)

Oh yes my growing boys. For the first time Boy1 and I built a train track, we got to work together, no more just mom doing it. What a treat! I really can't put into words how much I love these little folks that run around my house and make noise all day! It's good to be a MOM!

#309 - I made it through the weekend...

I am happy that I made it through my first class and a crazy weekend at work. It was a 3 day work week for me! I can't believe how tired I am after only 3 days!

Well I suppose it's usually because I start my day at 8am... but for teaching I start my days at 5:30am (man I don't miss working at my old job where that was the normal time to get up). I usually get home around 5pm so that's not too bad, but on Friday I had to work at my other job so I didn't get home until 10:30pm. Then I had to be up early on Saturday for a mega sale at my other job. IT was insane all day. I came home and fell asleep in the chair after supper. (Well sort of, hubby decided it was ok for the kids to keep trying to wake me up... Arce! I always tell them to leave their father alone if he doses off, you think he could extend me the same courtesy.) Well I did head to bed when the kids did so I got some extra sleep anyway.

Today I finally finished my course that I was developing! Now it's just review and checking time! I am so glad I am on the down swing of this class. It seems like it took me forever, even though it didn't! I just have so much to do I want to get on with it I suppose!

KIDDO NOTES
I was sad that on Friday I was gone before the kids got up and didn't get home until after they went to bed. It's not very often that I don't see them during the day... and I don't like it at all!

Boy1 is still happily pooping in the potty... thank god for my iphone!
Boy2 likes to lean over when he tinkles... he peed in his face this weekend! He has some serious compression
Baby still wants everything her way. Tonight she kicked over a little log house that Boy1 built to get the car she wanted out of it. She looked around to make sure he wasn't watching and poof with the foot over it went, then the sly little smile appeared. She grabbed her car and took off. But not before I gave her heck! What a turkey, she knew she was being bad but did it anyway!

#307 - It's a rough week but with some humor!

Well my work week has just started (well my work out of the house part of the week anyway! LOL) I am teaching my first course of the semester. One day down and one day to go! I am trying to just enjoy what I do, but I always worry about the students that are in the class that should be in the more advanced classes. Oh well I guess they are warned at the beginning of the course what is actually in the class and they do have the option to transfer. I always seem to get a few challenging ones in every class. I have a lady that I am not sure if she can read or even understand English for that matter. I can point to a cell on a screen, tell her to click on it and she will do EVERYTHING else but. I am not really sure what the deal is, but at least it gives me something interesting to try to figure out! So tomorrow is the 2nd and last day of the class. After the class I have to head to my other part time job and work until close at 9pm. Then on Saturday... Job2 again. Sunday = Me passing out I think! :) Actually I have to finish off one of the other courses I am working on, not to mention the ecommerce site I am trying to setup and some fixes to another application that I support.

Why does everything have to happen in the same month? LOL

THINGS THAT BUG ME
- stupid drivers (It never ceases to amaze me at the stupidity of the drivers on the road. I sure am glad I don't have to drive in rush hour traffic every day) There was an older gentleman that was cruising to get run over. He got out onto the freeway drove directly into the 'fast lane' and was doing about 20kms lower than the speed limit. Not to mention that everyone drives about 20kms over the speed limit. So what the heck he needed to be out in the fast lane for (besides to cause a traffic jam) is anybody's guess. We went for miles and he never turned left (not that you can really turn left on that road anyway!)
- my mother (she actually showed up to look after the kids today... one never knows with her) and she is such a joy to be around in the morning that I could just Throw UP!

THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY
- coming home after a long day at work! :)

KIDDO NOTES
It's so great to come home and the kids actually want me instead of Dad for a change. I even manage to get some hugs and kisses out of Baby... usually she only gives those to Dad when he gets home from work!

So here is a bit on Potty Training... When all else fails turn to technology to help out. If you have been following for a while you will know that we have been having some issues getting Boy1 to use the potty. I have tried everything and could not find anything to bribe the monkey. Toys, new toys, gummy bears, bran bites (ya I know weird, but with twins you are doing a lot of 'bribing' so I wanted something a little more healthy than candy.) Well anyway months later Boy1 is still not using the potty for the solids. Little did I know the answer to my problems was in my back pocket the entire time. (Now you are probably thinking what the heck is she talking about). Well he is my kid and I am TOTALLY technology addicted. Makes sense that one of my kids might be that way. Low and behold my IPHONE is the trick to potty training, haven't even had an accident since.

I have a free bubble app that I downloaded from the internet and a 99cent "PhonyPhone" app that I downloaded as well. When Boy1 has to go potty now he only wants Mom and he will sit and play on the IPHONE until his "job" is done!

I may have to send this one to apple as new way to use your iphone/ipod touch! HA HA!

I guess I will have to call it the Poopy Phone from now one! (And make sure to disinfect it with those nice antibacterial wipes too!:)

#305 - It's a working weekend for moi!

Man am I messed up with my days. I have no idea what day it is with the hubby home on Friday now! (hmm my printer is making some funny noises in the background... I am not sure that wireless is the way to go with printers! :))

So Monday is Labour Day... guess what I will be doing, labouring over my computer! I am still working on one of my courses. I am a bit of a freak with wondering how much I have to do yet so I am always counting pages. (I have a student handout that I use as my base to create my course and my exercises and samples). Well I am 39% through the book. There are 4 major sections (2 yucky ones). I have one of the yucky sections done and I am currently working on the biggest one. Then one more yucky section then a small section then I am DONE. At least when I am done I am done all my prep work for all three courses.

Tomorrow I get to go to my fun job. I picked up a shift (dumb!) but it's ok as I need to go deal with some computer issues there too! We finally got a new computer and I got it all setup and working with the system (or so I thought) and we have had a few setup issues that required some tweaking by moi. Tomorrow I need to fix the receipts that I buggered up by accident on Thursday night. (Well I mostly cleaned them up but I have a bit of work to do yet! :) ) Then I have to deal with a blog switch over for our work blog... yaddy yaddy ya! I do manage to keep myself in front of the computer these days!

I managed to make it through the entire afternoon without one Vista crash! I am going to write that one down on my calendar!

But it's late and I need to be off to bed!

#303 - Hot hot hot

Well if this is the end of our summer weather it sure is a final melt! It was another HOT one today. So much so that we all hid inside! (Well except my hubby he was finishing up with the last two cans of sealer for the driveway. 6 huge cans and we aren't even done yet. The rest will have to wait until next year!)

We finally got our new computer at work so I rushed in to set it up today. Good thing as my other laptop was our second till for the last little while. I have to do some work for another contract and I need the laptop back so talk about just in time they are supposed to call me tomorrow!

- stupid Point of Sale (POS) system at work! Arrrrg!
- leaves already falling off the trees! What is up with that?

The boys were suffering from the heat I think... they didn't get up until 10:30am this morning! WOW. I thought it was a good thing but Baby and Boy2 were just MISERABLE after sleeping so late. No more sleeping in for those two!

#302 - HOT

Well it was a HOT one today. Probably just about as hot as it ever gets around here. So what were we doing? Putting sealer on our paved driveway, hmm black stuff on a hot day! Now it wouldn't be such a big deal but we live on an acreage remember and we have a looooong driveway! We were out there with brooms and the sealer just a working away. I am sure the neighbours though we were nuts! (They aren't far from the truth!) Oh ya and hubby and I were both in jeans neither one of us wear shorts! Ha Ha a sight for all to see that's for sure!

Hubby bought the sealer at the beginning of the year when it was on sale and we haven't made time to do it. But since it can't freeze through the winter we had to get it done while it was nice and before the rain comes too. That's a tough one around here, one never knows!

Hubby says next time he has the idea to seal the drive way himself to hit him with the broom and go hire someone... duh! I could have told you that, have you looked at the size of our driveway! Oh ya and we got six buckets and we will probably need about 5 or 6 more after we are done. So part of our driveway will have to wait until next year when the stuff goes on sale again. I am way to cheap to buy any more right now given the reduced wage situation!

Oh ya and I bought two things off the internet and guess what, someone stole my card number. I got a call from the credit card security department on Sunday night. So I called them and arranged to have my card canceled. Then later that night I wanted to check as I had a weird feeling and I couldn't find the transactions in question on my statement. FREAK OUT here! So I called the regular number that I usually use for the card company and checked to make sure I was actually talking to their security department and that my card had been canceled. It was Freak out for nothing! So now I am annoyed about my card. I think I am going to get a separate card just for internet shopping with a really low limit as my other card scares me due to the limit on it!

KIDDO NOTES
My boys don't need me anymore :(. They went and played on their swing set (in the shade thank goodness) while hubby and I painted/sealed the driveway. I could see them from where we were, but they were playing without one of us right with them. I am so sad they are growing up WAY to fast. I am also happy that they love to amuse themselves with sticks and dirt and whatever else is in their 'play area' outside. They did come check to see if we were done once but that was it. Usually they have to play right beside where we are working, but not today. Baby was sleeping and my boys were busy busy!

(Oh ya and I saw a school bus, first day back around here, and I wanted to cry. Next year my boys will be off to kindergarten. What happened to those two babies we brought home? I am not ready to send them off into the great big world just yet! I have a year I better enjoy it!

#301 - All work...

All work and no play this weekend. A friend came over to help hubby out with Shed #2 from recycled materials. It has a roof and 3 walls now so it's well on it's way.

I started working on my next round of courses. I start in two weeks so it's waaaay past time to get ready! I managed to get one totally finished (The first one I teach... of course). I also got through about 70% of the second one. I was hoping to get it all done this weekend too but I didn't get it finished. I did start on the 3rd one too so that is a good thing! (This is a start from scratch one so it is going to take me WAYYYY longer!)

Tomorrow I need to make a list of all the things I need to accomplish for all my clients. I am not sure if I want to see the entire list that's for sure!

It was a beautiful weekend so have computer did travel. I found a nice shady spot and there I worked! I re-did all my walkthrough exercises so I am just hoping that I didn't mess anything up. I guess I will find out at my classes. If something is kind of wonky I am pretty good at 'winging it' if I have too! Can you tell I have had to do that a few times? :)

THINGS THAT BUG ME

- saw dust flying at my computer (a little to close to the construction zone)
- moon sand, that is definately an outdoor activity!

- being able to work at home most of the time

KIDDO NOTES
Potty training still sucks and to think I thought I was getting somewhere! :)

The kids had a great weekend playing outside. They were really good, only a little whining so that is awesome! For the most part they actually listened to me, well Baby is a bit of a wanderer so I have to keep one eyeball on her when I am working! (I sooo wish our acreage was fenced, although I suppose I would still be watching them anyway!)

I am so lucky that they usually play so well together and are really good at keeping themselves entertained. It made for a productive weekend! Tomorrow until Dad gets home I am all theirs, then it's back to work again!

I dislike Moon sand immensly. I am so glad that I got a table setup outside then gave the boys the 'stuff' to play with. What a freaking mess, but they sure had fun with it. Boy1 was really into it, Boy2 was just making a big old mess and happy as could be!

The boys also spent some time 'helping' dad. They cleared away all the cut off bits of wood. They loaded them up and took them all to the wood bin and dumped them in the bin. It's nice that they still think helping dad is cool!

Baby counted to 10 tonight, finally she managed to make it all the way without missing the nine! She was so happy she just kept counting and counting!

It was a hot one this weekend, I had some tired kids this evening, Baby was some kind of grumpy. When she finally got her supper into her she was much happier though! I do love it when they go to bed and fall asleep so quickly!

With that I am off to bed and just before midnight too! :)

#294 - Taking a break!

Ok so it was back to work today to clean up some computer stuff. I managed to get our receipt printer working, but now the font size is too big and it is not fitting on the receipt paper. NO IDEA how to change it. Driving me CRAZY! I was so excited that I got it printing and NOW I can't get it to 'fit' on the paper! So I am tired and sick of the darn thing so I am not touching it until I go in again on Friday.

Now I hope to sleep tonight... major panic attacks when I go to bed at night... very annoying/frustrating.

I am taking a break from all things work related until the owner is done with her vacation since we can't do anything anyway! UGGG and she is not returning calls as she said she would. I must admit if it was my store I wouldn't have left on vacation until I had the inventory mess all straightened out! Whatever not my store, not my worry!

#293 - Are you kidding me? and other stuff!

So today was a work day. I knew I was going in for some fun today as they phoned to warn me one of our computers was 'down'. (Which equates to one of our tills)

Sooo... try to find a floppy disk to update some files. HA HA HA! Then try to copy our system files from another computer to CD... guess what the 'broken' computer also has a broken CD drive. GREAT. Go get our receiving computer from the back. Start hooking it up, guess what no printer port (gotta love USB's). Phone hubby to see if my old lap top happens to have a printer port... nope. Get receiving computer setup (without cash drawer or receipt printer, hmmm kind of pointless!) Attempt to get one of our other receipt printers working (usb style). HA HA HA This printer is a label printer, owner bought it thinking it was a reciept printer! (Not to computer savvy that one!)

Finally after 3/4's of the day get the stupid computer printing to our other receipt printer for our other till. (Great both tills print to the same printer!) Did I mention that printer is almost illegible... hence the purchase of the two other printers that ended up being label printers. Are you still with me? I think I am getting confused.

Anyway got everything working, then decided to type up a note to the rest of the staff. (a half hour before close). Our laser printer at the tills NOT working either. Are you kidding me? Drag another printer from the back, hook it up and get it working so we can cash out. Get it working about 10 minutes before close! (Oh ya and the power cord wasn't long enough so I had to find an extension cord too!)

So that was 7 hours out of my day.. how about you! :)

Oh as for the other stuff... it seems as though my panic attacks are coming back. They come out of the blue and really aren't tied to anything stress related? Arrrrgg... Maybe they will have to increase my medication. I am so bummed!

#291 - Busy busy

Well I made it through 2 more late nights and now I am going to be early! I just hope I can sleep now! :)

I had a great time at the wedding. Got to spend some time with the old kids from the neighbourhood, the ones I used to baby sit! I really enjoyed the visit! (Totally ignored the annoying Mother so I was even happier!)

It was a very small wedding and we shut the place down so to speak! It was a lovely ceremony and the food was awesome!

I worked all day today so now I am just a weeeeee bit tired!

I will be glad to get back to normal hours this week!

Good Night and thinking of those injured at the Big Valley Jamboree (it's a major weekend of country music around here and a bad storm went through and flattened the stage. So far one is dead and 2 are critically injured. I suppose it could have been a lot worse but any loss of life is so tragic.) Mother nature can be so very harsh, I think she must be pmsing all the time!

#290 - Am I still awake?

Friggin heck I was up until 5am last night... and 2am tonight... Stick a fork in me I think I am done! Lucky I had a short nap today! (Did I mention how bad this system SUCKS and I am not even talking about how slow it is!) Well of 48,000 records loaded I have 500 or so that need a bit of TLC. Not bad considering!

Now I must go to bed. I have a wedding to go to tomorrow (yey! *insert sarcasm here*) I will be attending with my parents as hubby has to look after the kids. I just can't wait (*insert more sarcasm*) to spend a day with my parents, especially since all they will do is complain about how tired they are and how HARD THEY work! (Speaking of sticking FORKS in someone!)

On a good note I think (hope, pray, etc) that I am done with the late nights on this system!

p.s. My husband is an idiot! He is major crabby with the kids because HE is tired! (self inflicted tired I may add... screwing around in the garage) Not to mention that the kids have been awesome through all my tiredness and lack of attention to them! *hubby needs a slap* for his lack of patience!

The system is updated! It's already for tomorrow... all the counts are in (minus a few fixes!)

#288 - Waiting again....

Well I am still working on inventory for work... tomorrow I will hopefully be done the 'cleansing' part of the activity. Then it's just the load and the ongoing clean-up... at least the clean-up will be done at work on work time! :)

This is WAY worse than last year for me... that was only ONE late night!

Now if only I could sleep when I go to bed!

I can't wait to be done this so I can spend some quality time with the kiddos on the weekend! :)

#287 - Waiting....

I am just waiting for an extra to finish before I can go to bed... although at the rate it is going I may just leave it go and hope the system doesn't time out on me!

I had a busy day at work and I am still working. I am trying to clean up our system at work (what a mess! I had to manually update about 1,000 records... gaaaag) It sure would be nice if I had the backend password so I could get into the database and cause havoc! Good thing I looooove data or I would be going crazy by now!

Hopefully I can sleep tonight. I got a bit of sleep last night, but the 2 nights before absolutely NOTHING! I can't blame the heat as we have a room A/C unit. Speaking of heat it is still hotter than heck here. YUCK! Just what I want to do work on a hot laptop in a hot house. Hmmm maybe I should have headed to the basement? Oh well to late now I am almost ready for bed!

I sure missed the kiddos today!
